Walkers set off on a 7.5 mile jaunt along the river!
It was hot, hot, hot on Saturday 17th June as staff, students, volunteers, guests and four-legged friends rendezvoused at Bewdley Severn Valley Railway Station for the inaugural Walk, Rest & Rail fundraising walk.

Over 100 walkers took on the 7 ½ mile route along the river in the blazing sunshine, which presented a range of difficult terrains; narrow riverside paths, overgrown tracks, boggy puddles and fields of livestock.

Welcome drinks (and ice creams for some!) were waiting at the halfway point in Arley, where walkers crossed the river for the onward journey. With styles and gates to negotiate, everyone was proud and delighted to reach the Ship Inn at Highley for a sit down, a cup of tea and a piece of cake!

The return journey was by steam on the Severn Valley Railway – which was lucky because everyone was exhausted!  It was a fabulous day and everyone who participated should be really proud of themselves. Thanks to everyone for coming along and making the day such a success.
