NCW Year 13 student Naqib was selected as one of the best youth Goalball players in the country to travel to Odense in Denmark to play as part of a UK Talent Team.
Naqib played alongside other up and coming goalballers from Winchester, York, Cambridge and Hereford in a team coached by Faye Dale – the Great Britain Men’s Goalball team coach.
Playing three games in the group, Naqib’s team won the first 14-4, the second 12-2 and the third 11-8, winning the group and going on to take on the Danish Men’s team, where they put up a great fight and lost narrowly 8-5.
Naqib said “It was a fantastic experience, and an honour to be picked and I really enjoyed everything about it”.
