Sports enthusiast and Year 12 student, Tom, took part in the first dedicated 10km race in the UK for blind and vision impaired runners on Sunday 19 September.

The race formed part of a much larger event, the Great Bristol Run, where more than 10,000 runners took to the lively streets of Bristol.

Tom did brilliantly on the day and it was such an achievement for him to be involved in such an event.

Tom’s Mum and guide runner, Shelley, said: “It went very well – I was very proud guiding Thomas. He wanted to go faster than I could in the end!
It was a great experience, one which will hopefully be repeated at other runs now that it has been proven a success.”
