Just like all schools, New College Worcester, a school and college for young people who are blind or vision impaired, has quickly adapted to a new world, one where teaching and learning is delivered remotely. Every day provides a new challenge for the staff as they overcome the demands of keeping lessons and support going strong, in a virtual world. Staff and students have risen to that challenge.

On Friday 1st May the whole school, their families, friends and other NCW supporters are taking on a huge challenge – using their one hour of daily outdoor exercise to contribute towards a virtual journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats – a whopping 874 miles!

The whole school will be off timetable on Friday afternoon to complete the challenge and anyone is welcome to add their miles in support of the school and the students, so long as they abide by the governments guidelines for exercise and social distancing.

The tally of miles accomplished is going to be the work of Further Maths A Level student Jimmy!

To pledge support you can visit the website www.ncw.co.uk/Support-us or use the hashtag #NCWChallenge on Social Media. Any financial support donated will be used for supporting children who are blind or vision impaired in education.
