We are delighted to announce the success of our exhilarating Fire Walk event, held on Friday, 14th March 2025, at Norton Parish Hall. The event, which saw brave participants walking barefoot across a bed of glowing hot embers, raised much-needed funds to support vision-impaired students at NCW.
The evening kicked off with expert-led fire safety training provided by UK Fire Walk, ensuring that all participants were equipped with the knowledge and confidence to take on this daring challenge. The atmosphere was electric as participants prepared to face the heat, with excitement building throughout the night.
Alongside the fire walk, attendees were treated to delicious wood-fired pizzas from Smokey Dough Pizza, offering a tasty respite for those who had completed the challenge. The lively vibes were amplified by the fantastic live music from My Party Music DJ, keeping the crowd engaged and energized throughout the evening.
Thanks to the courage of our participants and the support of everyone who attended, the event raised a fantastic £4,451.52 (including Gift Aid). All proceeds will go directly toward supporting NCW’s vital refurbishment programs, services and facilities, helping the school continue its mission to empower students with visual impairments to achieve their academic and personal goals.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part in the Fire Walk and to those who supported the event,” said Emma Williams, Fundraising Manager at New College Worcester. “The funds raised will make a real difference in enhancing the opportunities we offer to our students.”
The Fire Walk was a truly unforgettable experience, and NCW is already looking forward to future events that continue to support and celebrate the remarkable students who attend NCW.
