A message from the NCW FSA.
After six years, we're having a reunion!
We're arranging this around the Summer BBQ organised by the College on 21 June.
Thanks to the efforts of James Bowden and others, we've also found a hotel, the White House in Foregate Street, just opposite Foregate Street Station.
We're dispensing with the formality of previous occasions, making this a more relaxing, informal social occasion for former students, partners and friends of all ages.
The programme will begin with a presentation by College staff on the current happenings in the College at 15:00 on Friday, 20 June, followed by Dinner in the hotel at 19:30. We have our own dining space for Dinner on the Friday and Saturday evenings. We have asked if the College will provide Tea, Coffee and biscuits during the presentation, there may be a small charge for this.
The BBQ will run from 11:30 till 14:30 on Saturday, 21 June. Tours of the College will be on offer during this time and the BBQ is free of charge. Those wishing to attend should register places, which I understand are not limited, by visiting www.ncw.co.uk.
We'll then go back to the hotel for Dinner at 19:30.
Of course, all this leaves plenty of time for relaxed socialising, visiting old haunts or whatever people want to do.
We have negotiated a special rate for rooms in the White House. The White House Hotel are holding 20 rooms for us, and these can be booked as follows:
Costs are as follows:
Twin or double room: £159 per room per night for dinner, bed and breakfast.
Single room: £129 per room per night for dinner, bed and breakfast.
Breakfast is Full English + Continental.
Dinner is a 3-course meal which we will eat together in the private dining room on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Extra guests are welcome to join us for dinner at £30 per head. Please contact the hotel directly to arrange this, however it would be helpful if people could let me know that they plan to attend the reunion and how many guests they plan to bring to each dinner.
At the time of writing, there is no transport on offer between the hotel and College, but arrangements can be made amongst ourselves at the time. I'd plan to walk, unless the weather lets us down.
Although we're hoping that all money transactions will be between guests and the hotel, the Association always welcomes donations.
We're offering bursaries to current students to support their special projects and to meet necessary expenses of our members who may visit the College to advise senior students about careers, university and life after the College.
Donations can be made electronically to:
New College Worcester Former Students Association
Sort code: 80-22-60
Account number: 26383963
If you are donating to the Association, please tell me, this would help me keep track of this.
We look forward to meeting you all in June.
All the best,
Terry Robinson (on behalf of the Committee) M: 07771 610002
